| New community. Join it. |
[04 Jun 2008|08:13pm] |
Via my thezombified account I've recently created a community for dark/horror/Halloween-inspired entrepreneurs and artists to gather for discussion, networking, and general madness. A handful of you- my dear friends list- fall into that category and I hope to see some of you join and participate. (And if any of you run a community I can promote it in that would also be appreciated ;P)

| The Creature |
[11 Jul 2007|02:58pm] |
Thursday night we had to camp out in the living room (I guess that's what you'd call it) on account of there being some sort of creature presumably trapped within the bedroom. Apparently nocturnal, it spend most of the night scratching loudly and otherwise making a lot of noise, much to our delight.
The following evening, while deadthyme was conveniently at work, I was in the bedroom chatting to happy_skeleton on MSN (I wasn't trying to sleep so the noise wouldn't bother me quite as much). Probably much to her amusement, she got to read live updates as the action happened, only minutes after informing her of our wall-creature and semi-jokingly saying it was doing a lot of scratching and I'd hoped it didn't end up scratching a hole through the inside wall.
I wish I'd kept the conversation-- I'm sure parts of it would make a hilarious addition to this entry. I somewhat clearly remember, upon hearing the distinct sound of bits of drywall crumbling to the floor and turning on the bedroom light, writing something along the lines of:
Uh.
It's coming through the ceiling...
Yes, hilarity ensued. I couldn't see the creature itself for a few minutes and worried it was small enough to squeeze itself through the (roughly an inch wide at this point) hole and drop down into the bedroom with myself and the cats. I soon discovered it couldn't, of course, when it started tearing away at the hole again and I saw by the end of its nose that it was relatively fucking big. I screamed, of course, being a massive girl, which scared it away from the hole. For a few minutes. It then came back with renewed energy, clawing away at the hole with its giant furry grey paws, causing me to scream (again), grab the cats along with my computer, and run away, closing the bedroom door behind me.
deadthyme could deal with it when he got home.
Much to his disappointment- he did really want to see it- the creature didn't return. He put a chunk of meat up in the hole, but apparently our creature was either vegetarian, simply disinterested, or had already found its way outside. We haven't heard from it since. Late Saturday we covered up the hole, which as you can see below is roughly the size of the palm of my hand. It's a bit unfortunate, as we just remodeled the bedroom in April with the help of my parents, but it does make an interesting and exciting story.

| Diary 2008 Project |
[17 Jun 2007|09:42pm] |
There's a project going on here to create a diary for 2008, in which each page is designed by a different artist or crafter. Despite the fact that I still have no idea when I'll actually be able to start selling again (I'll likely expand on this in a future entry), I decided to go ahead and contribute. So, in the spirit of trying to share my creations a little bit more often, here is my completed page...

I will be updating later on tonight!
(By 'tonight' I mean anytime before 6am Zombie-time tomorrow morning)
It's probably one of the more personal entiries I've ever written, and thus probably weird and rather nonsensical, so prepare yourselves.

The Dark - Masque |

I've been trying to write an entry since deadthyme's visit with me ended almost a week ago, but I've been kind of depressed, making writing prove rather difficult.
Well, thanks to the following email (which we've been waiting for five months), that's changed and my emotional state is the complete opposite of what it was even a few hours ago:
*** DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS E-MAIL ***

Now, for those of you who don't know much about the visa process, this doesn't mean I have my visa yet-- I still have to go to an interview after doing a little more paperwork, but this means I'll probably be having that interview very soon!

| Message Boards? Feedback Needed... |
[01 Apr 2006|08:35pm] |

I've been playing with the idea of hosting a message board on The Zombified, for both website/product news and discussion, as well as what we'll call "general interest". I hosted a couple of forums when my old personal website was up, and found it rather enjoyable while it lasted, however, I'd really appreciate some feedback on the idea. Thus, a few questions (any other comments/ideas welcome, of course):
As a consumer, buyer, or otherwise interested party, would you be willing to join and participate in an online message board based off a company's website? Is this something you would like to see?
If so, what are some topics (aside from website/product stuff) you would like to see on a forum, keeping in mind that myself, my friends, and my potential customers are- for the most part- naturally "morbidly inclined"?
And- for other business owners who've perhaps tried this- how has having a message board affected your business/sales? Would you reccommend it, or do you find it to be a waste of bandwidth?
Thanks much...
